Small Businessperson of the Year

CEO Of Tigress Has Earned Acclaim as Business Pioneer, Author,
and Community Leader

Atlanta, GA/April 28, 2003 - Valerie Clark, CEO of Tigress Entertainment, is nominated for the 18th Annual Metro-Atlanta Chamber of Commerce/Atlanta Business Chronicle Small Businessperson of the Year Award.

The Small Businessperson of the Year Award is given to business leaders in the Atlanta area for their innovative growth strategies and civic contributions. The award nomination is just one of many Clark has received in the past year as she has pioneered on her own in establishing Tigress Entertainment, an entertainment marketing company, and authored her first book, the critically acclaimed romantic thriller, Tormented Without A Trace.

"I am very honored to have been nominated for the Small Businessperson of the Year Award," said Valerie Clark, CEO of Tigress Entertainment, "Tigress began as a dream of mine to promote writers, musicians, and artists. To help these people achieve the recognition they deserve in their fields was honor enough for me, but to be recognized by this nomination exceeds my fondest hopes.

Clark began Tigress Entertainment following an automobile accident in 1997. She had been living the life of a marketing executive on Wall Street but always felt something was unfulfilled in her life. During her recovery, she moved to Atlanta with her husband and established Tigress Entertainment. The company has offices in metro Atlanta and New York.

Clark is not just a CEO, she is also an accomplished author. Her first book, Tormented Without A Trace, debuted in 2002 and has garnered impressive reviews and numerous literary nominations including Georgia Author of the Year Award, the Pen/Faulkner Award, and the Before Columbus Award. Tormented Without A Trace is slated to be made into a major motion picture. Clark will be attending BookExpo 2003, the premier book event of North America, to autograph copies of Tormented Without A Trace. She is also busy finishing a sequel to Tormented Without A Trace due out in the Fall.

Clark is also active in numerous community organizations. She is a strong advocate of literacy and volunteers time to literacy and other non-profit organizations. Clark also speaks before organizations and schools urging students to pursue their education and dreams.

Tigress Entertainment is currently working with Atlanta author Carey Sipp in promoting her forthcoming book, The TurnAround Mom, due out in early summer.

Clark is a graduate of Fordham University with a bachelor's degree in Business and French. Additionally, she attended the Goizueta Business School at Emory and interned at the United Nations.
