The music career of Marc Stevens started when
Marc got his first guitar at age eleven and taught himself how to
play. By age fourteen, Marc was playing in bands – one of
which landed him to be the opening act for one of Led Zeppelin’s
scheduled dates in South Carolina. Marc was also the opening act
for Stephen Stills’ solo tour at the Newport Music Hall. At
age seventeen Marc taught himself how to play the sitar, at age
nineteen the acoustic guitar, and at age twenty-two he started playing
the bass. Since that time, Marc has played numerous live and studio
gigs with music of many different genres (including heavy metal,
hard rock, top 40 rock, country, country rock, gospel, jazz rock,
blues, acoustic, acoustic rock and Southern rock). During this time,
he has also been a sit-in musician, solo acoustic artist, and lead
guitarist in numerous bands including Pyramid and ShrinkWrap. In
addition to playing the guitar, Marc collects of one-of-a-kind guitars
and basses and currently has over thirty of them.
